The root chakra is our survival chakra. It relates to our basic needs (warmth, shelter, food, water, physical safety) and holds our fears (finances, housing, career).
When this chakra is congested with fears and worries, we can experience overwhelm and anxiety resulting in feeling like we are in danger.
When this chakra is flowing freely, we feel secure, stable, grounded in the physical world, confident in doing our daily tasks and able to make decisions.
This chakra influences your fight or flight response. It is also related to prosperity and our ability to receive money.
Excess masculine energy in the root chakra tends to manifest in an aggressive or stagnant nature, particularly related to your home, finances, or family.
Excess feminine energy in the root chakra tends to manifest as avoidance behaviour, particularly with finances, home life and long-term commitments.
